For the Love of Mom

Where do I begin?  I have no idea.  This is my first post ever as a blogger and thought that sharing my days as a mommy would be fun and funny for others to read.  Of course, my thoughts come to me when the baby's crying and my daughter is shouting and the dogs are barking.  Chaos.  But...the dogs are away, the baby is sleeping and my daughter is at grandma's.  Now what?

I thrive on the hustle and bustle of my everyday life.  There is always something going on, or going wrong.  Whether we laugh or cry - we get through it.  It's funny how we need the things we are used to every day - such as the chaos of running a household and how lost we are when it is not around.  I went to the store the other day - by myself - and forgot nearly half the things I went for.  This is because I was not constantly being bombarded with "Can we get this" or "I have to have one of those" or "Can you hurry this up".  By myself - a concept I had not realized in months.  I didn't know what to do when I was by myself.

My life runs on organized chaos.  We do not make plans and play each day as it comes.  When we do make plans you can count on us being late or everything getting all messed up.  But I love it.  I also love being a mom. Even if it means that I am a personal chef, chauffeur, housekeeper, babysitter, financial planner, nurse, etc.  My family completely falls apart when I am not around.  I love when my husband says "I would not know what to do if I didn't have you."  Thing is, I would not know what to do if I didn't have all of them either.  My family loves me regardless of coffee breath, bed head, or any other quirks I may have.  They also love to make big messes for me to clean up.  I find that all to often it is too much to ask them to rinse their plates and put them in the dishwasher or place their trash in the trash can and not on the counter about it.

For the love of mom.  I have come to realize that my family does these things because they love me and love for me to clean up after and care for them.  That is what mommies do best.
